I don’t remember how I first learned of court reporting, but I do know I wanted to be a court reporter from the time I was 12 years old, and I still enjoy this career immensely.
Cindy began her career in 1982, after completing the court reporting program at Green River Community College. She was one of the first court reporters in the state of Washington to attain the Certified Realtime Reporter certification, flying to San Francisco for testing before it was available in Washington. After attaining her NCRA certifications, she held the position of Chief Examiner for NCRA certification testing in Washington for several years.
Cindy’s experience as a court reporter has taken her to locations throughout the United States as well as to Germany and London on multiple high-profile cases. She has provided CART to large groups, including at the National Governors Conference held in Seattle, Washington.
Cindy has been very active with WCRA, having held various positions on the board since 1999. She has participated for many years in assisting WCRA put on yearly seminars and conventions for continuing education for its members. As part of her experience with the board she has helped lobby the Washington State legislature to ensure the ethical and fair treatment of all parties involved in litigation in Washington.
In her spare time, she enjoys travel, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Dean, and their Boston terrier, Bogie.
