“I started working for a law firm in Butte, Montana, during my freshman year of high school as their gopher girl. I worked there until my sophomore year of college, with my plan to go on to law school. The managing partner had always encouraged me to get some life experience after my undergrad before going on to law school. Over those years I had become close friends with the court reporter our law firm used. She suggested going to court reporting school and working closely with the legal industry to see if I truly wanted to pursue my law degree. I took my first deposition as a court reporter in 1989 and have been hooked ever since.”
About Lorrie
Lorrie began her court reporting career in 1989, after completing the court reporting program at the College of Legal Arts in Portland, Oregon. She worked in Portland, Oregon, from 1989 through 2005 when she moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, with her husband, Tim, and their two young boys. She worked as a court reporter in Phoenix until they moved to Seattle in 2010 where she has continued to build her career.
Lorrie is an avid runner and cyclist. She has completed 56 marathons across the United States and Canada. She also spends time boating with her husband, Tim, throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
